Medals Galore At Jim Law

The Jim Law Invite, on the campus of UNC Charlotte, served as the NC 5000m Championship and the Raleigh Walkers swept all of the awards. We also had medal winners in the 80m Hurdles, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump & Javelin, to end the day with 13 golds, 1 silver & 6 team records across all events.

Dan Nehnevaj (OM) made his return to competition, winning overall in 21:43.20, lapping the entire field multiple times. Alejandro Fernandez (M30-34) followed in 30:32.45. Julianna Wottawa (OW) was the 1st woman in 31:25.61. Allison DeShazo (W40-44) followed in 33:34.21. Avery Rudolph (W17-18) making her 5000m debut, broke away from Andrea Easterday (W45-49) on the last lap to finish in 35:26.95 & 35:41.57.

Matt Holtry (M45-49) & Patricia Clemmons (W65-69) excelled in their typical multiple event displays of fitness. Matt won the following: 800m – 2:54.89, 400m – 1:14.60, 1500m – 6:09.02, 5000m RW – 38:36.20. Patricia won the following: 80m Hurdles – 19.71, Long Jump – 3.20m, Javelin – 16.55m, 5000m RW – 39:49.19

Team Records were achieved in these events: 5000m RW – Avery Rudolph (W17-18), Matt Holtry (M45-49), Patricia Clemmons (W65-69); 400m – Matt Holtry (M45-49); 800m – Matt Holtry (M45-49); 1500m – Matt Holtry (M45-49).
