USA 20 km Champs Preview

$50,000 will be on the line in Hauppauge, NY as the top Walkers in the US, along with some international guests, compete over 20 km at the Walter Hawrys RW course on Constitution Blvd. 29 starters are expected between all divisions of the event.

The US Men & Women will split the $50k equally over the top 7 finishers in each race.

Prize Money breakdown: 8000, 6000, 4000, 3000, 2000, 1000, 1000

Raleigh Walkers will have 2 of the top 5 seeded athletes in the Men’s race, which will see Dan Nehnevaj and Bricyn Healey transverse 10 laps of the 2 km course looking to maximize their performance to secure a top US finish and also earn enough points to strengthen a spot in the World Championships this summer.

Dan is currently ranked 60th at 20 km and 67th in the 35 km. Bricyn looks to be ranked 126th at 35 km. For both, a top quality race here will significantly help their ranking. Times of sub 1:25 for Dan and 1:27 for Bricyn would be more than adequate at this time of the season.
