Best Race Walking Team in the USA Open to new members 24/7/365
  • Gainesville, Florida was the site of the World Team Trials in the Half Marathon (and U20 10 km). All of the best Race Walkers in the US toed the line to earn a spot on Team USA going to Brazil. Competing for the Raleigh Walkers were Jordan Crawford and Bricyn Healey, both veteran members of international competition.

Conditions were similar to what is expected in the World Team Championships, so this was a perfect dress rehearsal.

Jordan walked in the chase pack with Jason Cherng and Emmanuel Corvera for most of the race and broke away from Cherng with 2 laps to go, making a decisive move to finish 2nd in 1:39:49 behind Nick Christie 1:34:21.

Bricyn started strong, but experienced some trouble around the halfway point and struggled through to an 8th place finish in the men’s race, with a time of 2:01:11. Both Crawford and Healey have secured positions on Team USA for the World Race Walk Team Championships in Brazil, it’s just a matter of which event they choose to compete in.
  • New Roster Additions for 2026

The team continues to grow as we head into the 2026 competition season in full force. Our 2 newest additions come with quite a competitive pedigree, both having been elite athletes at the high school level and one who was a 3 time NAIA All American.

Alexa Governor (East Carolina Univ) formerly of The University of the Cumberlands, is a 3x Collegiate All American, who has also placed in the top 5 at the USA 1 Mile Championships at the Millrose Games twice. Alexa has PRs of 6:45.80 (1500m), 7:15.06 (Mile), 14:10.49 (3000m) & 24:52.06 (5000m).

Julianna Wottawa (Fordham Univ) is a graduate of Sachem East HS. The Sachem high schools (North & East) are the most successful in the nation for producing Race Walkers. She is a 3x HS All American and finished 2nd in the NY HS Championships. Julianna has PRs of 6:50.01 (1500m), 7:20.9 (Mile), 15:26.66 (3000m) & 28:13.54 (5000m).

Both Alexa and Julianna are training with the goal of making the 2028 US Olympic Trials, where they expect to join their teammates Jordan Crawford, Bricyn Healey, Dan Nehnevaj and Rachel Chapla on the starting line.
  • Crawford Silver at USATF Indoor
Walking solo for all of the race, Jordan Crawford finished a strong 2nd at the USATF Indoor Championships in the 5000m Race Walk. His time of 21:15.02 is an indoor best (also better than his outdoor time of 21:20.97) and new team record for the distance.
